went to yeouido, visited the 63 building and saw the view of seoul from up high. as we were taking the lift up it smelt kinda musty and funky… oh korea, you and your funky (aka not so nice) smells don’t surprise me anymore. i can’t wait for winter to come to musk out the terrible stenches… we took a bus to yeouido, surprisingly it was pretty near sinchon, maybe about 15minutes. and yay to avoiding the million and one flight of stairs in the subways haha. buses are kinda dangerous tho, the way korean drivers (can’t) drive… a while back some public CNG bus “exploded” and severed a woman’s legs D: anyway we made it safetly and waited for a free shuttle bus.

hello SM town concert that lasted for a full 7 hours it was great it was awesome i had some fun but i don’t know it was weird and my ears were tired from hearing screaming shinee fans non-stop… also i guess i was disappointed at how snsd were treated :’( makes me feel kinda.. awww for the girls.. oh well

and then the concert ended at 11pm everything that happened then is now a blur, i think i had fun tho. it wasn’t really expensive and i think i had pretty good seats. didn’t need binoculars or anything haha. tiring tho. and when it ended everyone made their way to the subway station. we could take either direction of the train back because it was just as far, so we just randomly chose one direction. and sucks, cos we saw 3 trains come for the opposite direction and we couldn’t cross over cos it was on the other side and would have to pay again… and what sucked even more was that the train came to a halt after about 7 stops… we didn’t even make it halfway through (21 stops to home)!!!! everyone got chased out of the trains and were told that train services have ended… WTF?! everyone was like otddeokhae?! and just really dumbfounded… it was about 1215 i suppose and a saturday night! imagine all the young girls who have no money to take the cab home… anyway everyone got out and just lingered around the station, i saw some girls just sit on the floor spacing out lmao. anyway we took forever to find a cab cos everyone was taking cabs too… finally got back to sinchon at about 1+am and met up with jessie and her boyfriend to have DINNER lmao. it was a long day we were all tired hot, sticky, sleepy and also hungry. also the cab ride back was kinda scary, driver was speeding and he didn’t even put on his seatbelt lol

1 and half days later and i’m on my way to the airport; ticket back to singapore (SQ’s beef stew is mighty yummy fineeeeeee)

and then it was rainy again in seoul right before i left. feels good to be back in singapore right now. so much to eat so much to do, still as hot, but its good. being in korea makes me appreciate home much more. i guess you never know how to appreciate things only after you have lost them. korea is still a good experience tho, i’m gonna stick it up and get through it and get as much from it as possible.

i love bread, but it annoys me tho. they only sell loaves of bread here and they have 8-10 slices in a bag, so if i buy a loaf of bread i’ll have to eat bread for the next 5 meals and try to finish the whole loaf within 3 days before it turns bad. actually, the same goes for every other non-frozen food that i buy. if i have cabbage that week i’ll be eating cabbage the whole week, and sausages the whole week, and the same kind of mushroom for the whole week. wow sudden realization that this kinda sucks… living alone sucks in terms of eating the same stuff every meal cos you’ll have to finish it alone = =

mmmm krispy kreme and iced chocolate with cream, okay tasting its not terrible but i’m not a big fan of donuts. i never eat donuts in singapore cos the smell turns me off but donuts are too popular here in korea. dunkin donuts and krispy kreme everywhere! unavoidable

also we came to my house earlier this week after eating some chicken dish which we couldn’t finish! had some maekju and onion rings and listened to kpop lol by the way korean beer is like so meek. japanese beer has a much better taste! well shia was here too and he didn’t talk at all!! so annoying~ i wanted him to come cos i wanted him to mix with the rest and get the chance to converse in korean but he’s not even trying. whatever. he is soooo gonna die in the coming week’s test haha look at him all uptight and shit in the photo!!! oh and check out the cheesy “print” on my window lol its pretty nice at night when i sleep as the streetlamp shines in and the bamboo print becomes imprinted on my wallpaper haha

well and to YOU who wants to know how my place looks like, haha this is how it looks like when its bare. i’ll upload my pictures of my place furnished soon when i decide to blog again! as you can tell my house is really small and cozy (but not as small and terrible as some of the other houses i’ve seen = = horrible, how do people even live in those places?!) and u’ve already seen everything in 2 pictures!!! kitchen and sleeping/studying/laundry area haha

so it has been 4 weeks of class?! wow time passes really fast and i’m liking most of my classmates when i’m out of class. but when i’m in class i’m not happy. no one ever responses. mayumi’s voice is getting softer and softer… (she says she has no confidence but her korean is really fine = =) and sometimes when we read passages i can’t even hear the voices of the two people sitting beside me!!! WTF! totally reminds me of this scene from GLEE where rachel finds out no one else is singing except her during practise… makes me angry when i really shouldn’t be because it is them who is losing out not me. shia lebouf is getting really annoying and i can’t even be bothered to talk to him anymore. he doesn’t even try to communicate with other students because HE CAN’T. KOREAN FAIL MUCH?! and no one wants to sit beside him because partnering with him is hell… he only speaks english and how the fuq are the japanese girls even gonna understand him?! i wish he would just drop down to the next level actually… it would be better for him cos he really is struggling right now. he is in denial = = and yeah this whole week i’ve been sitting next to him everyday!! omg even last friday!!! just my luck. everytime i enter the classroom the only two seats left in the room are the one to his left and to his right… nice, i get to choose left or right = = fml

and omg its so tiring to communicate with them! using my shit japanese and our similarly shit level of korean! haha and right now my japanese is even below the level that it was when i was in hong kong! in hong kong i listened to sooo much japanese. and now here in korean, my japanese brain is fried. but its funny how we communicate this way lol… oh and during break our class is really quiet! we have all run out of questions to ask about each other haha!

today we had our first cultural event thing! we went to watch this beatbox action comedy live show which was pretty funny except i fell asleep halfway… i got really sleepy. waking up everyday at 745am is not fun! haha but at least this forces me to sleep at around 12midnight everyday. anyway this show only lasted for an hour! and when it ended everyone was like, “is this it?!” we spent almost an hour to get to the place and it ended within 1hour = = lucky this was free, i wouldn’t pay to watch it! the mall we went too was really nice tho~ TIMES SQUARE! as nice as hong kong’s haha. cept shinsaegae is a really expensive department store. we went to have dunkin donuts after and talked about whatever lol

speaking of which, dunkin’ donuts is really popular here! the donuts are pretty decently priced at 1,200-1,500won for one. i don’t usually eat donuts cos they have this weird smell but i ate a chocoholic one today and it was pretty good hehe. and earlier this week i met my student helper! she’s korean and her major is french. she speaks decent english tho so i’m glad. and she’s really nice!!! i like her and i guess i’ll be hanging out with her more in the near future. our first meeting and we met for 3 hours! haha it was really funny that we were both thinking of what to say and ask each other at the same time haha! i’m hoping she will bring me to see some inkigayo or music core show cos she says she’s gonna check it out for me lol. and of cos i did not reveal that i like snsd… way too gay! she likes ss501 haha

and also this week i visited the hello kitty cafe that is 5mins away from my house. too near! just walk up, turn left to go down the stairs and there it is! there is also some sushi buffet along that street that i want to try soon. also the okonomiyaki restaurant that is further down the street! its popular! i saw people queuing up for it that day haha. yes the hello kitty cafe, its decently priced and okay~cute lol some pics~

my own fault tho, before the test started we could chose whether we wanted to do the beginner test or the intermediate one. i took the beginner one, looked at it, and i was like, no way this is too easy. it was filling the blanks of basic vocab such as apple, umbrella etc lol so i changed. bad move = =

after the test i went up for an oral test. it was okay but i messed up on the past tense shit i didn’t really get alot of practice on that. i got assigned to class 1B which was what i wanted! definately do not want to take e-1 again! saw the textbook for 1B and yes its tough! i’m hoping ewha will really help me have good korean speaking skills.

i woke up late this morning… lol alarm at 730, i snoozed and woke up at 8:15!!!! planned to leave the house at 830, guess that’s not happening haha. was supposed to report at 910 but i guess that’s alright. i took about 20mins or less to walk to school, and it was raining this morning! arrived at the main hall and gosh it was full! 85% female, 65% japanese i think… just a whole lot of japanese girls around! there was the introduction of the course, the teachers, some clubs, etc and EVERYTHING WAS IN KOREAN. i wanted to fall asleep. i could catch some stuff,,, but mostly its like #@$%^!?&*

after that we all went up to our classrooms and each classroom had 15 students. only 3 guys! and omg half the class = japanese girls = =” non-japanese people include, two taiwanese, two girls from china, one french guy and one german guy that sits beside me (yeoja chingu isseoyo kkk)! it was a slow first lesson. the japanese girls are all really shy and they speak really softly… i made friends with one girl who could speak more korean and she likes big bang! (i told her i liked big bang too just for the sake of it) so maybe we can all hang out and go some concert together sometime. and in korean class my japanese brain is like switched off. i asked one girl (natsumi) how old she was in korean (myeot sal ieyo?) and she didn’t understand. i used english, still no. i just couldn’t recall what it was in japanese (nan sai)!!! FAIL.

anyway after class we had a campus tour! i met more people and everyone has really interesting backgrounds. and i made friends with this girl from sabah (or sarawak?) and she’s really rich. she studied in switzerland and did a year in japan as well! and now she’s chilling in korea?! envy envy envy = = we both agree that japan is so much more awesomer than seoul. srsly the price level is about the same.

oh i have not ranted about the price of rice cookers yet have i?! i’ll leave that for another post together with raving bout my new place! maybe tomorrow! i’ll be blogging more now i guess, i have more time! haha :D
